We are offering a unique opportunity for an Assistant Controller within the Paper/Packaging industry in DeSoto, Kansas, 66018, United States. This role is primarily focused on supplementing the corporate controlling team and supporting a central accounting team that oversees 18 manufacturing plants across North America. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities:• Support the controlling team during the monthly accounting close process in adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)• Assist in monitoring the performance of the company's results against budget and prior year, and communicate significant deviations• Aid in weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting tasks• Prepare schedules and workpapers for external auditors• Support the annual budget process and review account reconciliations• Oversee various systems that support the finance processes, including but not limited to Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Great Plains (GPAC), Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes, Analyze Financial Statements, Month End Close, Annual Internal Audit, and Annual External Audit• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data• Collaborate closely with senior management.
